JoBlo.com : Jared on the set of Friday the 13th
Jared Padalecki has been around for a couple years now, finally breaking through and scoring his first leading role in Friday the 13th. Some may know him from his starring roles in Gilmore Girls and the popular genre show Supernatural. He’s also got a couple genre movie credits to his name in House of Wax and Cry_Wolf, so as you can see he’s definitely a fan of the genre. We caught up with the young actor while on the set of Friday the 13th. The time was around 3 AM and Padalecki had just approached us munching on a bag of Doritos Cool Ranch chips. Regardless of it being early morning and having worked all night, Padalecki was upbeat and ready to sit down with us and answer some questions. Little did he know that as soon as the interview was over he’d be wrapped for the night, lucky him!
It’s always this time of night where there’s nothing to eat so you just go straight to the craft service table. Bunch of peanuts and Skittles and now some Cool Ranch chips. Terrible, terrible. And then you say why did I do that? Oh yeah it was 3 o clock in the morning and I couldn’t think straight.
Inside Supernatural: The Eyecon Interviews
In September, Jared attended Eyecon in Orlando, Florida. Well, Orlando’s CW affiliate WESH/CW18 was fortunate enough to get a few exclusive interviews with a couple of their special guests including Jared. The two part interview, each video running about 2 minutes long features Jared talking about the evolution on Supernatural as well as life behind the scenes of the show. They are definitely worth checking out.
Thanks to Sandra for passing along these videos to me.

Jared Padalecki’s Favorite Kill from the Friday the 13th Remake
FEARnet caught up with Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) on the set of the new Friday the 13th film where he dished on all the dirt about shooting a remake to one of the most popular horror franchises of all time including which kill he digs the most.
They tell us that as much violence there is in this movie there’s also a lot of sex too. Do we get to see you topless?
(laughs) Not yet! If there’s reshoots they might try to yank off my shirt. That was also something I brought up with the writers and the producers and the director because I’m on a show on the CW [Supernatural] – which is kind of for younger audiences, so I wouldn’t want to do anything that would be unbecoming of them. But no, no nudity for me as of now.
Jared Padalecki on the set of Friday the 13th!
In between shots of getting chased by a crazed masked man, Jared Padalecki had a few minutes to spend with our group to talk about the film and more! While we were on set, the scene being shot took place in an old overturned school bus. It was full of weeds and dirt, the perfect place for a stand-off between Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti with Derek Mears as a very intimidating Jason Voorhees.
How did the bus end up here? Who knows, but the set was dark, dirty and scary. The bus was laying on its side with the main fight sequence taking place on top. Producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form took us inside the bus to watch the action. It was intense! Padalecki’s head was being pounded Jason-style through one of the bus windows.
How did he feel about the fight? Does he survive? We spoke with Jared following the shot, see what he had to say below!
Q: It seems coincidental, on SUPERNATURAL at one point you guys were talking about having Jason on the show and now you finally get to fight him after all.
JP: Now I finally get to fight him, you know what’s funny? I’ve heard that from a few places that they’d talked about it on the show. They had never brought it up with myself of Jensen [Ackles], I think it was just writer ideas or fan ideas or something but it would have been a lot of fun. But, now I get to do it on the big screen so it’s even more fun.

Supernatural Star Goes to Camp Blood
There was a time when Jason Voorhees almost wandered in an America where Supernatural’s Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, existed. This potential cross-over of the Friday the 13th universe and the world of the CW’s surprisingly good series was teased within the pages of the official Supernatural magazine. As the series’ third season revved up, it became clear a battle between the Winchesters and Jason was not going to happen after all.
That’s not to say star Jared Padalecki was never bound to have a run in at Camp Blood with horror’s hulking mama’s boy.
“I finally get to fight him,” the actor says with a smile. He’s sitting with ShockTillYouDrop.com on the set of Platinum Dunes’ Friday the 13th (full set report) lensing in Texas. “I had heard from a few places that they talked about it on the show. They never brought it up with [co-star] Jensen [Ackles] or myself, so it was either writer ideas or fan ideas or something, but it would’ve been fun. But now I get to do it on the big screen.”

Hell-oween : Supernatural sinks its fangs into God vs. The Devil
“For us,” says one of the stars of ‘Supernatural” in this week’s episode, “everyday is Halloween.” And there, in a nutshell, is the surprising appeal of the creepy CW horror series about a pair of ghoul-fighting brothers who are - quite literally - caught up in a weekly war between heaven and hell.
On the network that has this year been pushing two teen soap operas - “Gossip Girl” and “90210″ - hard enough to break a wrist, “Supernatural” is the show that has attracted perhaps the most fanatical fans.
Within 72 hours of last Thursday’s episode - called “Yellow Fever” - Google listed more 1,100 blog postings talking about it. The average weekly audience for the show, now in its fourth year, is a modest 3.2 million viewers - peanuts compared to its competition at that hour, “CSI” and “Grey’s Anatomy”. But more than two-thirds are under the age of 35 - and the numbers are growing. It doesn’t hurt that the show currently airs around the world in nearly 70 countries. It’s secret? Two stars who do not look like they stepped out of an issue of Details magazine, and straight-forward stories (Are you listening “Heroes”?) that are not afraid to be bloody and frightening.
“The subject matter is classic archetypes,” says “Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam Winchester, a tormented man who, along with his brother Dean (Jensen Ackles), hunts deadly supernatural beings.
