#5: Supernatural
My love for Supernatural one is something I talk with fellow 411 writers Joseph Lee on a pretty regular basis about. There are people who believe that the show faltered a bit in Season Six and I don’t necessarily agree, but Season Seven is definitely an improvement on it. Every season you’re left wondering how this show can raise the stakes for the guys and put their backs against the wall without getting to the point of “We’ve handled worse.” That’s sort of what hurt Buffy’s last couple of seasons; after you kick a god’s ass, an angry witch and the First Evil are pretty ho-hum. The men and women behind Supernatural know how to keep things seeming like the new threat is greater than the old one on a regular basis though with the Big Bads, and the Leviathans are certainly in that league. What’s more, Sam and Dean are without so much now. They’ve lost Castiel, their car, their identities and possibly Bobby as well. That gives this a whole new sense of urgency. Add into that the fact that Jared Padalecki is always improving his game to the point that he’s one of the better actors on TV at delivering genre lines of dialogue and Jenson Ackles is just flat-out excellent on a regular basis and this is definitely one of my favorite shows running.

The happy couple shared a smooch while waiting at a crosswalk – and although they both looked a little embarrassed when they noticed photographers nearby, they laughed it off and kept going!

#1. Jared Padalecki
Born: July 19, 1982
Jared, Jared, Jared. What can we say about Jared? As a constant presence in Top 30 for YEARS we’re not really sure what we can say about it that you guys don’t already know about considering you did vote like crazy (and boy do we mean CRAZY) to get him to number one. Seven seasons in on Supernatural and we’ve watched this guy’s acting knock it out of the park – he started off as the goody two shoes brother and now seven years later he’s been to hell and back and a trip to the dark side along the way. We also love that Jared is a lot of fun in RL, especially now that he’s got a Twitter! Jared joining Twitter is a definite 2011 highlight – the things he posts are so damn hilarious! Please don’t ever change Jared!
What’s Next: More Supernatural goodness as the show’s 7th season continues, but more excitingly is the news that Jared’s going to be a daddy in 2012! What a lucky kid they’ll grow up to be!
